IASP World Congress on Pain in Glasgow

Registration is still open for the IASP 12th World Congress on Pain to be held in Glasgow in August. Plenary speakers include Fibromyalgia Syndrome expert Daniel J. Clauw, MD.

Daniel J. Clauw, MD is Professor of Medicine at the University of Michigan, USA. He is a prolific writer on the subject of Fibromyalgia Syndrome, with frequent publications, both in peer reviewed journals and patient information sources. He will be giving the talk Stress and Chronic Pain: Lessons Learned from Fibromyalgia.

The International Association for the Study of Pain® (IASP) is the leading professional forum for science, practice, and education in the field of pain. The IASP held the first of its triennial World Congresses on Pain in Florence Italy, in September 1975. The 2005 IASP World Congress was held in Sydney, Australia and the next IASP World Congress will be held in Montreal, Canada, so the 2008 Glasgow event is the ideal opportunity for UK based healthcare professionals to attend the world's leading Congress on Pain.

The 12th IASP World Congress on Pain will be held from August 17th to 22nd at the Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre in Glasgow.

The Congress should benefit both those just entering the field of pain research and treatment, and those interested in updating their skills and knowledge of promising research and treatment possibilities.
